WORKSHOP Templates & FACILItation
My Role
TEMPLATE CREATOR & WORKSHOP FACILITATOR
Balanced teams were assembled that included product managers, designers, engineers, store operations, marketing and legal. In order to teach the balance teams how to create problem statements, identify clear opportunities or aspirational goals; lead designers in the organization were tasked to construct templates to encourage collaboration and influence decisions.
I paired weekly with the Director of Design and three other Design Leads to brainstorm, draft layouts and content for the templates. The team created these resources with a continuous delivery approach by releasing a MVP version and then collecting feedback from the balance teams to incorporate the recommendations into the template framework.
the process: templates version 1
The team is continuing to create new templates and integrate feedback into existing templates. Our goal is to get the organization to a point where everyone feels ownership of the process, and can partner on template contribution. This will require designers to act as role models and partners, helping team members deeply understand the “Why” behind the “What” of current design processes.

DISCOVERY + FRAMING OVERVIEW
We encourage starting with a guiding question:
DISCOVERY: What problem am I solving? For who?
FRAMING: How are we solving the problem?
DELIVERY: How usable is the solution?
If none of these questions quite fit, it might be valuable to ask “What do we need before we get started?”
